Harold Radford Rosebowl Tournament
27 January 2014
In its 50th anniversary year, the most recent Harold Radford Rosebowl Tournament was held at the College on Saturday 11th January.
First held in 1954, the Harold Radford Rosebowl is contested by OMs, pupils and Beaks on a near annual basis.
Five OMs, six pupils and two Beaks played a round robin format resulting in a final between Alex Wildman (C2, 1984-89) and Marius Baldrey (CR). On this occasion, as with the last final in 2012, the OM representation just prevailed over the Common Room challenge. A big thank you to Julian Beckett for organising and hosting the event which we hope will become a regular fixture on the first Saturday of Lent Terms to come. All OM’s are welcome to play.
Alex Wildman (C2, 1984-89)

Courtiers Squash - Rosebowl Tournament 2013

11 January 2013

The Courtiers are holding the Rosebowl Tournament on Saturday 19th January 2013 at the College. The tournament is open to ALL OMs and pupils and there are usually a number of Common Room entrants as well. The 2012 Rosebowl saw a good turnout (see pic) and Mark Skull (C1 1975-79) came out as winner, a sad indictment of our youth policy. Please let Alex Wildman, OM Courtiers’ Club Secretary, know if you can make it and put the date in your diaries. Alex says, ‘No 6 Nations that day so would be great to have as many of us playing as possible.’ Sadly the OMs lost to a very strong Millfield Team in the first round of this year’s Londonderry Cup. Courtiers Squash - Rosebowl Tournament
21 January 2012
We had a strong turnout for the Rose Bowl last Saturday. 7 OM’s, 7 pupils and 2 beaks contested the trophy with Mark Skull (C1 1975-79) winning a close final 2-1 against Marius Baldrey (CR 2009- ). The final followed 6 round robin games: 7 for Mark Wright (C3 1998-2003) - who can’t names read very well - and semi finals. The day appeared to be considered a success so we will try to stick to the corresponding 2nd Saturday in January for future years. The more OM’s who play the better so please put it in your diaries.

Courtiers Squash Report 2011

21 October 2011

The 2010/11 Londonderry Cup run ended with defeat in the Quarter Finals to Sherbourne in a hard fought match at Hurlingham Club. The stalwarts of the Courtiers this season have been Messrs Fallowfield, Hines, Niven, Atkins, Skull, Horrell and as always we look forward to some (even) younger blood to compliment our older, wiser and more quickly tiring heads. The next Londonderry Cup is due to start later in the year and we hope to re-start the Rosebowl tournament at the College in early 2012 to which all challengers are welcome.
