On 9th June, at Cirencester Park Polo Club, Cheltenham College hosted this event with three matches: Cheltenham College Junior School v Beaudesert Park School; Cheltenham College v Marlborough College and OCs v OMs. To see a slideshow from the day, please click here.
Old Cheltonians v Old Marlburians This match was won by Marlborough 5.1/2-3 with a handsome trophy to show for it. As a 7 goal team against an 8 goal team we had started with half a goal. Our OM team of Harold Hodges (CO 2005-10), Patrick Ephson (C1 2003-08), Freddie Dear (TU 2007-11), Bobby Dundas (TU 1997-01) played Old Cheltonians Ludo Ephson, Max Lopez -Valido, Dom Heywood and Tom Beim. A full report will be added shortly.
Cheltenham v Marlborough The College team of George Meade (Captain) (C2 U6), Christopher Pritchard (B1 U6), Roddy Seymour-Williams (C1 L6) and Harry Davies (BH Re) played a very strong Cheltenham team of the Severn brothers, JJ de Alba and George White. It was a close match with good play and despite going into the fourth chukka at 3-4 and gaining a goal we could not secure a win. Chelentham won 6:-4. A report of this will be added to the College Website. All the teams were well matched and provided spectator sport. The team's families were all there as usual. We were delighted to meet OMs and those who had come from the College to support. Thank you to Peter Bryan, the Bursar, the Carroll family (B1) and Martin Evans, Jane Pendry and Jan Perrins from the Marlborough Association Team.
